If you're a regular reader of my blog, which you're probably not, I know what you're thinking. "She can't be bothered to update. She's a lazy idol-" well let me stop you right there. No, dear reader, that is not the case. You see, every time I go to write a blog post, I have something coming up and think "well is there any point updating now? When I have something more to add soon?" So there. That's why. And now, to continue.
So, it's February and here I am. With another update. Quite a few things have already happened this year. For starters, that course I told you about briefly but didn't go into detail- I finished it. Done. End of chapter. It was a 13 week course in where I had to do stuff. Various qualifications. And I passed them all. That's a win, isn't it? I passed them all. They were so simple though and no exams, so there's no reason for me to not pass, really. The last two weeks were work experience. I was given the placement to go with a company I know. It's a great little company called Spectacle Theatre and I just did general office work. It was great fun, interesting work and I loved the staff, but I don't miss it there. Why? Because... Drum doll, please... I now work there!
Yep, you read right. I've got my first job! Just before my placement, my tutor of my course told me that there was a job going and so I applied. The interview was last Thursday and I was told Friday I was successful. So as I type this, it's my second day as my title of Sales Assistant and I'm waiting for the office to open. I'm early again and I haven't got office keys. So I'm just waiting here. Just thought you'd want to know.
Also this year, I've interviewed a girlband. They're an up and coming girlband that go by the name of Vanquish. They were really lovely and I love their new single, Damn. I managed to interview them thanks to CLIC, of course, and then got free tickets to the show which they were the support act for up and coming boyband, M.A.D which I had only heard about thanks to my friend, Cerys, who loves them. We even managed to be in the press pit as the photographer for CLIC had to leave and so we took over. I only had my iPhone and Cerys had her iPad so they weren't perfect pics but they turned out alright. So much so that one of the boys used my picture on Facebook and their Instagram. Cool, eh?

AB up close and Personal!

The beautiful Vanquish!
We also had a valentines meet up with the 5sosfam, which was cute! We had cards, chocolate & roses so we had loads of people as valentines. It was by far the biggest one we have had to date. Like seriously, there were over 40 of us. Yet 5SOS haven't booked a gig here. BUT on Capital FM South Wales the boys said they didn't book it and were like "who's booked this tour?!" So it makes me happy that it isn't their fault and they love us. And so they should with our dedication!
Sarah and I!
Biggest meet up yet!
Heeeeeey
Chilling
Laura and I (AKA THE GIRL WHO HAD THE MOIST SIGN AT 5SOS MANCHESTER!)
Anyway, I must be off! I'm in the office now and I shouldn't be chatting to you. Go on, bugger off. You're distracting me from work!
Toodles ;) (who the hell invented that word? Sounds stupid)
I know I haven't written in ages, but hear me out. A lot of things has happened lately! And as per usual, when it comes to reflecting about it all in my blog, my mind goes blank! Blahhhh.
Okay, so this is my first blog post as an 18 year old! Yeah buddy! On my actual birthday, I went to an Italian restaurant in a LIMO. Hell yes. It was Jess, my parents, stepdad, stepbro & his girlfriend, gran, cousin, brother and me! It was so fun and I really loved it. The Saturday after, I went to the Elvis Festival with Jess, Ellen and Ben came from North Wales for the night and that was also a good laugh! Jess and Ben slept over and that was great, too. We stuffed our faces and just had a good time.

Pepsi has finally arrived! Yes, I officially have two dalmatian puppies! They're a handful but they're great fun and I love them to bits! Pepsi has grown a hell of a lot. She was tiny when we had her, but not as tiny as Louis when we had him. She's marched on in here and has taken the role as the boss, for sure. I cannot wait for their first Christmas.
When Louis met Pepsi!
How gorgeous?
Ready for Christmas!
I can't think what happened in October, to be honest, except the fact I started a course, but that's boring...but November was the first ever 5SOSFam Cardiff meet up and it was the shiiiit! Made some amazing friends and we even got noticed by 5SOS THEMSELVES!
I speak to a lot of girls on Twitter and fangirl over 5SOS, One Direction, Olly Murs, etc. and I arranged with a girl, Sarah (who I now love to bits!),to meet at Cardiff Central Station to go to the meet up with. Now, I know it is dangerous to meet up with people from the internet, but if you follow certain rules, it should be okay (I’ll give tips at the end of this article!). We met with other fans at Cardiff Castle and there turned out to be between 15-20 fans there in total, all there for 5 Seconds of Summer. We all made friends and got along really easily. We went around Cardiff, including Starbucks and the Apple Store and all had a great time, discussing the band, singing songs and bonding. We all love the band a lot and by the end of the day, we got on so well.
To top it off, Calum, one of the members of 5SOS noticed our meet up photos and tweeted them as well as the video I created of the day. Talk about the icing on the cake!
The meet up was really fun, but not all online meet ups go as well as ours did. If you ever plan to meet anyone from the internet, take extra care, get consent from your parents/guardian - or even take them with you, and never go alone. Here are some tips to ensure that it is as safe as possible.
• Make sure the meet up is in public and daylight - this way, if anyone dodgy does show up, you have a lot of witnesses and people can see what’s going on.
• Have an adult with you or nearby - even though I’m 18, I had my scary-looking dad walk with me to the meet up so he could see who people were and make sure they seemed okay. A parent, guardian or family friend would be ideal.
• Have a mobile phone with you at all times - you never know what could go wrong. From people turning up you didn’t want there, to arguments or even someone becoming ill. A mobile always comes in handy.
• Bring a banner/wear specific clothing- If you walk up to someone and assume it’s someone at the meet up, they could lie and say they are, when they’re actually not. We wore 5 Seconds of Summer shirts/told each other what we were wearing that day so we could identify one another.
• Don’t feel forced into attending any meet up if you’re not comfortable - if you don’t feel okay with meeting up, you can always say no. You’re not forced into doing it!
Video I made!
Aren't we cute?
Being patriotic!
26th November was a special date. Why? I FINALLY MET OLLY MURS. I was on Twitter one day to see OllyHQ tweet from his account saying about the HMV 'Sign and Selfie' and how he was only going to do one in London. I was gutted because I’ve never had the chance to meet him. I carried on my week like normal, but was slightly gutted that I was missing yet another chance to meet 1/6th of my idols. A few days later -forgetting where the signing even was - my dad offered to take me to London for the day as he had a 'little Christmas surprise' for me. He said it didn’t cost much, but I’d really like it. Thinking it was a day of Christmas shopping, I agreed to it.
On the morning of the day, a friend of mine Tweeted, saying about the signing…that’s when it triggered in my mind - could I be going to meet Olly? Nah, probably not, but just in case, I took a letter I had written once that I always wanted to send but didn’t and a present I always said I’d give him if I ever met him. Stupid, I know, but still.
When we arrived in London, I just thought I was being stupid and I clearly wasn’t meeting Olly. I followed my dad to the London Underground from Victoria Bus Station and we got on the Victoria Line. When we got off at Oxford Circus, I still just thought it was probably Christmas shopping. Until we arrived at the back of HMV, to see a queue of 200 people. I freaked out - this was it. I was in the queue to meet Olly Murs. I thanked my dad a thousand times and even though I had to wait five hours in the cold, I didn’t care. I still thought there was a possibility I wasn’t going to meet him, until security informed us after 600 people arrived, they’d close the queue. I asked where about in the queue were we and he said the 200 mark. I froze. I was in the queue of people definitely meeting Olly. My heart was racing and I didn’t know what to think or say. It didn’t hit me for ages.
So after waiting for like 6 hours, Olly arrived and we were all in what made me think of sheep pens made out of the HMV aisles. I was, like, in the fourth one and it was about 30 minutes until my turn but it felt like forever. In the background, the new DVD that comes with the special edition album played and everyone was so excited. Olly finally came out and the press took their photos and we all went wild. I was so overwhelmed; I didn’t know what to do!
Finally, it was my turn. It was super quick and (because my memory is like a frigging film developing camera when I'm excited) I still can't remember everything, but he was like 'alright darlin?' and I was like 'hiya! Umm. I brought you a present, it's not much but...' 'Oh thanks! What is it?' 'It's a Welsh lovespoon, the letter explains it,' 'thanks, babe,' he put it to one side, signed my CD and then took a selfie on my phone and gave me a hug and let me kiss his cheek, said 'bye darlin!' and that was it. But he had 600 people in the 2 hour slot so I didn't expect much but I loved it even if it was over in a flash.
I broke down in tears after meeting him and I still can’t quite get my head around meeting him but I’m so glad I did and I am so happy my dad took me to London just to meet him for not even two minutes. It meant the world to me and it still does and it will be something I will never ever forget.
Forever to be treasured. He smelt amazing!
That Saturday was another amazing day because I finally met Tash. Tash is my dear friend who I have been talking to since I was like 13. We met on Stardoll and have been close ever since. She's in uni now and that's in Cardiff AKA an hour away from me so 30th November we finally got to meet! It was a bit emotional, but so much fun! We walked around Cardiff before meeting up with my friends Adam and Beth to go to Winter Wonderland which was absolutely great fun! Tash is amazing in person and online and I hope we will continue to be dear friends for many years to come!
We were like 15 in the above photos and then the bottom
one is under the foam spray in Winter Wonderland!
Glad we met!
Finally, my last piece of news is the 5SOS CHRISTMAS meet up. Basically what I said earlier but 2.0 and much more fun. I organised this one so I made sure it had a lot of activities in it. After weeks of online promotion for the event, the day finally arrived on Saturday 14th December where fangirls for the Australian band, 5 Seconds of Summer, travelled from all over South Wales to meet up in order to celebrate and share their love for the Aussie boys who stole their hearts.
The event began about midday in front of the Coca Cola truck outside Cardiff National Library, where everyone met up, 5SOS cakes (made by yours truly) were shared, Christmas cards were given out and people were vlogging. It was very fun to meet the newbies and reunite with the originals.
Once everyone arrived, we all queued up for a photo by the Coca Cola truck and the staff was a bit blown away by how many of us there were. It was all very exciting and we were very hyped up with the spirit of Christmas and our love for 5SOS.
With the photo out the way, we watched the Coca Cola choir singing and got involved ourselves- getting them to sing happy birthday to 5SOS as it was their second birthday last week and I even got a bunch of people to dance to Mistletoe and Wine with Sir Cliff’s famous swaying dance. It was all great fun and I think we’ve made friends in the choir!
After taking some photos with some iconic places in Cardiff (The Millennium Stadium, for example) and a quick chat with Santa, we had a McDonalds before heading off to Winter Wonderland for some fun. Rhian and I went on the Around The World ride, which I normally love, but it was so windy, our cart was like up the top of the ride and rocking from the wind- I began to believe I wasn’t going to make it to Christmas at that rate!
Once we were back safely on the ground, we dominated the Penguin Bumper Cars and tried to hit each other’s cars, which was really funny and just good fun. We hung around together for a bit longer until it began to get dark and it was then we decided to say our goodbyes and send our Christmas wishes to one another before departing from another fantastic meet up.
It was so much fun and to be the one to have organised it was amazing. I loved it so much and I cannot wait until the next one! I love all my friends I’ve made from these meet ups and I can’t wait to see them next year!
The thing that topped off that weekend was the fact that none other than 5SOS THEMSELVES FOLLOWED ME! I cried, I screamed, I freaked out. It was just unexpected but a completely pleasant surprise.
How Christmassy is this?
Collages are fun
Laura got the plods involved!

That's about it now. And this is my last post as a 17 year old. Because next time I post, I shall be 18, mofos. Legal to go clubbin an' shit. Not as if I'm going to go.
I will always feel guilty for never being there from the start, but it’s not like I ever hated the boys. 2009 I was diagnosed with depression. It was a tough battle and lasted til early 2011, when I found my calling in life- writing and journalism.
During 2011 I was so focused on that and the events I was attending, I had no time for being a fan of anything. I made new friends who were older than me and at first I thought I could be myself around them… Well, I was wrong. I heard WMYB properly at a restaurant with them and all they did was slag the boys off, insult their fans and just put them down. I didn’t want to be seen as that person to them, so I ignored the fact that the song was catchy and just didn’t bother.
I heard WMYB again in Feb 2012 on a residential weekend on a friend’s iPod and I liked it so much that I borrowed his iPod and played it over and over. I was still trying to hide the fact that I found the song catchy until I went to visit family in Luton for the week.
I was on a computer looking at Sugarscape when I saw an article about Harry and how nice he was. I read a few articles about the boys before realising what I was doing and then stopped. When I got home from Luton, my “friends" and I got into massive argument and they started bullying me. I was in pieces.
My depression kicked back in and my anti-depressants were boosted. At this point, I began admitting I was a fan of Olly because the same thing was happening about me liking him. I got so caught up in being able to admit the fact I liked Olly, I forgot that I was allowed to like One Direction, too. Until New Years 2013, I saw a 1D video in the “suggested for you" on YouTube. It was a link to all the video diaries. I watched them and fell in love. Those boys were hilarious, sweet and just amazing.
I watched their X Factor performances from start to finish and ended up being awake all night listening to AUN and watching 2011-2012 videos. I’m not in education so by the end of that week, I had watched/read/listened to so much 1D stuff, I knew literally everything. I has downloaded both UAN and TMH and they were constantly playing.
In february, The NHS effed my medication up and gave me the wrong one, so I was suicidal. It came to the point that my mother had to take the day off work because I was so bad and we were crying on my bed together. She went downstairs to make an emergency appointment with my clinic and I put music on to help me fall asleep- Little Things came on and I cried again, but instead of it being because of suicidal thoughts, it was because I felt worth something after all. I smiled for the first time in days and with the help of the boys and my medication put back to normal, I was better again.
When I found out Camryn- who I had heard of years ago and I really liked- was going to be the support act of the boys UK tour, I was so gutted I didn’t have tickets! Camryn and I had spoken a few times before so I messaged her, wishing her luck for the tour and telling her about where I live and the website I write for and how she was on my bucket list as someone I wanted to interview. She replied saying thanks and how she’d love for me to interview her! I was so shocked and since she was going to be in my city the following week, I asked if I could interview her then and she happily agreed to it! I got the editor of the website to email her publicist and 2 days before, I found out I was going to interview her AND the fact that I had 2 FREE TICKETS TO SEE CAMRYN ON ONE DIRECTIONS SHOW ON MARCH 1st.
My emotions were everywhere and I was so happy! Camryn was Lovely and her manager put me on the guest list and my seats were amazing. They were at the back but less than 3 feet away from the floating stage stopping. It was amazing being so close to them and my love for them could only grow stronger.
Interacting with the fandom was scary at first… What if they rejected me? But I had learnt so much about the boys, I was fine and I didn’t tell them my story unless we were close. Some people were bitchy, but you get that everywhere.
One day, I had bad news and I was really down about it, but an hour later, Zayn tweeted a pic of Niall sleeping with sunglasses on, which I replied “how uncomfy is that?!" not 30 seconds after I tweeted it, ZAYN FOLLOWED ME! I was an emotional wreck, yet so thankful and he cheered me up so much.
I have so many memories of this fandom and it hasn’t even been a year for me yet! But the boys and Olly have literally saved my life and I wish I could thank them personally.
Happy 3 years, One Direction! I love you and the fandom ❤❤❤❤
Hey! How are you? Good, good. Me? Alright, like. Been up to much? Okay, cool.
Anyway, I've not written on here for a while, have I? Apologies. Ha. Not as if you cared. This is purely for my own entertainment and it doesn't entertain me all that much, but hey, it kills a couple of minutes, doesn't it?
I don't know where to start... but I think I'll start with the sad news. My beautiful dog, Mavis, passed away. It was so sad. She was diagnosed with a heart condition about... 3 months ago and then suddenly, she just passed. It wasn't painful for her, because it was really quick, but it was painful for us to lose her so quickly.
Rest in Peace, Mavis
But, we missed having a dog so much, we decided to get a puppy. A dalmatian again, but this time, a boy! His name is Louis and he's currently 10 weeks old. We picked him up last Saturday and he's already grown so much! We named him Louis because, well, the full story is that my mother wanted a Disney name for him, but after naming every male Disney character that existed, I got bored and started saying One Direction names. "Harry, Niall, Zayn, Liam, Louis-" "Actually, I quite like Louis." "Really?" "Yeah, like Louis Vitton!" "No... Louis Tomlinson." "No, Vitton." "Does it actually matter?!" "Right, Louis it is then." so, that's what we named him. He's a bit of a bugger because he likes to bite me, instead of his toy, but he is only playing. And he's an angel when he's asleep.
Isn't he a bundle of cuteness?
I also went to the Cut Film Awards on 6th June with Wicid, where I met T4 & The You Generation's Will Best! He's also a friend of One Direction, dontcha know? I was so nervous but I really wanted a photo with him, so Rhys, the Editor of Wicid, went up to him and asked if I could have a picture! He was really down to earth and we spoke for a good ten minutes about One Direction (mainly Niall) and The You Generation! I was freaking out! And he followed me on Twitter! He was so lovely! And after the awards, I got to interview him! Then he kissed me on the cheek and I was blushing. I don't have a crush on him, but it's rare that anyone kisses me on the cheek hahaha. Check out my review of the awards here.
With some of Wicid on the red carpet! Aww, cute!
There was some dress up stuff- we gladly took advantage
Mark, Ashley, Katie and me!
Myself and Mr Will Best!
Have you heard Miley Cyrus' new single, We Can't Stop? I love it! The music video, though, is a bit... unusual. It's not horrible, but it's certainly different.
I love Miley and you should know that, but it's definitely not what I expected. I don't think the ghetto thing is very big in Wales, so maybe that's why it seems rather weird? I don't know.
Anyway. That's all, really. Except I cannot wait for One Direction's film, book & fragrance and I miss Olly to bits, I wish he'd come back to Wales soon!
Sorry, I've been procrastinating with this blog post. Like two months! Jesus. Where to start?
Well, I saw Olly live on 26th March and it was EPIC! I was in his tour book & GUESS WHAT! He shouted to me from the stage! Well, basically, he did the rip & trip and said "What's my mum gonna say?" To which I yelled "I've already tweeted her Olly!" I didn't expect him to hear me. He did. The whole arena did. And he just looked at me and went "ohh nooo! Hahaa!" And I totally fangirled. So yeah.
The concert was amazing, though. Seriously, Olly is a fucking amazing performer. I love the dude! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaand guess what! HE TWEETED ME!!!!! Look:
Care to fangirl with me?
And if that wasn't enough to make me scream like crazy- a few days later, look who only goes and fucking follows me!
I swear that week was "make Jazz freak out til she explodes" week. But, hey! I ain't complaining!
Excuse the title, I was in a High School Musical mood and it fits the topic. You love it, really.
You know what bugs me?
Okay, yes, that bugs me, but that's not what I'm talking about.
What bugs me is that people bully people for liking things that they like. I'm talking about fandoms right now. Let's take the One Direction fandom, known as Directioners as an example. Yes, I'm in fact a Directioner. I'm proud, too. In general, they're all nice people, but I can't help but notice the mean bitches who think they own the fandom.
What do I mean? Well, the girls who are like "you can't be a Directioner if you don't know this" or "you can't be a *insert boyband member's name here* girl because there's too many of us". Uh, excuse me? Are you being serious? There isn't "too many of us" because there is no limit to the fandom! It's not some secret club you have to apply to be a member of. If you're a big fan of the boys and you're dedicated or whatever, then yes, you're a Directioner. There's no ifs or buts. If that's what you are, then good for you! But it can be really uncomfortable when some people think they can boss you about. Sorry, who died and made you queen?
Also, people are saying "you can't be a directioner if you didn't love them from the start." Uh, some people may have only recently heard of One Direction or maybe they were too busy being peer pressured into what they were and weren't allowed to like in the past and now they are part of the fandom. It doesn't matter when you joined the fandom, it matters about you staying and supporting the boys.
As the curly one known as Harry Styles once said "Real directioners are not the ones who have millions of our photos. They're the ones who love us unconditionally."
Guys, a fandom is meant to be like a family. A fan BASE to support your idol. Don't bully and bitch and hate. Just get along. We all have one thing in common: Our love for our idol. This isn't just about Directioners, because I know it happens in other fandoms, but I used this one as an example.
Please stop hating each other. Oh, and for Larry? If you think they'd be cute together, fair enough, but don't push and push and force your beliefs to try and make it real. Just read this photo:
Just imagine and remember
That's all I have to say on this subject for now. But can we all just get along? Stop bullying and trying to run things YOUR way? We're (excuse the cheesiness) all in this together. So let's get along, yeah?
